“Poma’s work and expertise on Ascent St. Pete resulted in a finished product that went above and beyond. We look forward to working with them on more projects!” — Coleridge Aaron, Associate R2L Architects
Ascent St. Petersburg is a 36-story mixed-use development located on 1st Avenue in St. Petersburg. Designed by R2L Architects, the building provides residents with stunning views of Tampa Bay, the Tampa skyline, and the Gulf of Mexico.
Poma provided a number of architectural features, including the garage facade, railing throughout, balcony dividers, trellises, a retractable shade system, and sublimated aluminum wood-grained cladding at the ground level.

The custom garage facade featured perforated and embossed panels with decorative exposed mullions. POMA worked hand in hand with R2L to create a custom pattern that tied a 2-D pattern in with the 3-D geometric balcony edges above. This perforated metal system enabled Ascent St. Petersburg to reduce their construction costs by passively ventilating the garage and provides long term energy consumption savings without sacrificing aesthetics. Over 12,000 linear feet of G602 post mounted offset glass rail featuring Poma’s Patented Corrosion Resistant Anchor Pin. Poma also provided geometric perforated balcony dividers, and retractable shade type awning system with integral gutter system, aluminum trellises/cabanas with sublimated wood grain finishes, rooftop louvered mechanical screens, sublimated aluminum wood grained T&G cladding system, ground level canopies, and a decorative faux finished wrought iron gate (in aluminum). The residential interiors are designed by Vignette Interior Design and include amenities such as a rooftop clubhouse, co-working spaces, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Additionally, there is an exclusive penthouse lounge and outdoor terrace with a plunge pool, private cabanas, and grilling areas. The hotel's interiors were designed by DLR Group, including a rooftop terrace with an operable shading system and a Cuban-inspired bar/restaurant by Ellis Adams Group. The project was developed by Greystar.
