Custom Perforated Metal Forms

Poma's in-house team will work with you to develop your perforated imagery across panels and around corners. Quality of the finished enclosure is important for every job.

A photograph, made of holes

ImagePerf turns a picture into a perforation pattern. Each part of the image becomes holes of a different size and spacing: larger, denser holes read as light, smaller and sparser ones as dark. Up close it's a panel of perforated aluminum; step back and the picture appears across the whole wall.

The image can be a photograph, a logo, a drawing, a pattern or a gradient. Because it's cut into the metal rather than printed on it, there's no coating to fade, and the panels still let in air and daylight like any perforated screen.

ImagePerf is Poma's own process, covered by US Patent #7,212,688 B2.

How an ImagePerf project works

1. Send your image

A photo, artwork, a logo or just an idea. If you don't have imagery yet, our team can help you develop it.

2. We map it to the panels

We translate the image into hole sizes and spacing, laid out across your actual panel sizes, joints and corners, so it reads as one picture on the finished building.

3. Approve the drawings

You review the layout and shop drawings before anything is cut, with the open area each panel needs for ventilation and light.

4. Fabricate and install

The panels are perforated, finished and fabricated in our Palm City plant, then installed by our recommended installers or your local crews.

Where it works

Parking garage facades

Open-air ventilation saves on mechanical systems, and the garage becomes a landmark instead of a blank wall.

Building facades and double skins

A perforated skin shades the building and filters daylight while carrying the image across the whole elevation.

Screens, displays and infill

Mechanical screens, backlit feature walls, interior dividers and guardrail infill.

Benefits of Perforated Metal

Unique Aesthetics

Poma’s custom perforated metal enables rich qualities of artistic expression. Your design sensibilities and those of your clients can be imbued in the metal surface itself, reducing need for custom finishes.

Advanced Shading

Use variable hole shapes to design advanced shading into your projects. Increase your building’s performance in both winter and summer months with double skin systems which filter light.

Enhance Lighting

Whether you’re working with a lighting specialist or simply using perforated metal to filter natural light, our metal perf system provides unique and artistically dappled lighting for your projects.

Acoustical Engineering

Perforated metal can easily be designed to reduce echo in spaces with controlled acoustics. Back your perforated sheets with an acoustic foam to deaden the sound of spaces with acoustic bounce.
