Universal Epic Universe
Immersive railings and architectural metalwork
Universal Epic Universe is a next-generation theme park in Orlando, composed of five distinct worlds designed to fully immerse guests in story, environment, and movement. From expansive main circulation areas to the highly detailed environments within Super Nintendo World, every element is choreographed to support flow, safety, and experience.
Poma Architectural Metals was responsible for fabricating and installing architectural railings throughout the park’s primary areas, as well as extensive custom metalwork and railing throughout the project. The scope demanded a high level of precision and coordination, balancing strict safety requirements with the need for the metalwork to disappear seamlessly into each world’s visual language.

Special attention was given to connection points, transitions, and edge conditions. Railings were engineered not only for durability and code compliance, but also for visual continuity, ensuring that welds, fasteners, and joints felt intentional and resolved. Finishes, profiles, and proportions were carefully tuned so the metalwork supports the environment without calling attention to itself.
Within Super Nintendo World, the railings were designed to reinforce the playful, highly themed context while maintaining the robustness required for a high-traffic park environment. Elements were fabricated and installed to withstand constant use, weather exposure, and long-term operational demands, all while preserving the illusion and immersion of the world.
Working alongside Yates Construction and Balfour Beatty, Poma navigated tight schedules and complex coordination across multiple zones of the park. The result is architectural metalwork that quietly does its job — guiding guests, ensuring safety, and enhancing the experience — while allowing the worlds of Epic Universe to take center stage.
